We started the day with a walk through Rhodes (note the tap in the herb garden at 10.30 am) What a quaint place..Beautiful little old homes (most have been renovated and are now self catering cottages)..a couple of pubs and restaurants and a home craft shop. The original hotel still stands but is unfortunately closed and up for sale. (photo of pub) The streets are not tarred which amazed us.
The drive today included some bad dirt roads through lovely scenery... snow capped mountains, and a few beautiful passes including Barkley Pass.
We drove through huge sheep farming areas and many of the sheep have already had their lambs.
Finally arrived at Hogsback after a 6 hr drive...a lot warmer here!
We are the only people at Swallowtail Park..Very pleasant (R110pp)
