20 Aug - Knysna to Witsand

The beauty of this trip is that the planned route changes daily - making it exciting. We had planned to go to Tankwa Karoo NP. After talking to a guy at the laundromat we decided to go via Witsand.
Well here we are and after reading the flower report and looking at the map, have decided to go to Wellington then head for the West Coast National Park instead.

After spending the morning in Knysna we drove through Sedgefield, Wildernis, George, Mossel Bay, Heidelberg to Witsand. A deserted camp site which has all the basics but in need of TLC (R100pp). Not sure why the guy told us to come here!!

En-route we saw fields of Conola, wheat, hundreds of blue cranes, ostrich, sheep and cattle farms and a couple of dams full of flamingos. The country side was so clean and tidy with lovely road lay-byes.

Watched the first half of SA vs Argentina rugby in a pub on the beach where we also watched two kite surfers having a wonderful time in the strong wind.

For supper we enjoyed the delicious fresh fish that we bought in Knysna.
