19 Sept - Lamberts Bay to Melkbosstrand (Ou Skip Resort)

We woke to another glorious day. Had a leisurely breakfast and took the scenic route along the coast via Elands Bay.The flowers were lovely and stretched right down to the beach. We came across a Puff Adder sunning himself on the road! Went for a walk on the lovely deserted clean beach.
Drove on through Dwarskersbos, Velddrift and stopped at Alexanderfontein outside Darling to stock up on olive oil etc. We then went to the sweet factory in Darling which make a huge variety of hand made toffees. Basil can't believe his bad luck that we are back in Darling on a Monday when the Brewery is closed!
The rain last week certainly brought out a variety of different flowers along most of our trip today..what a bonus.
Drove on to Melkbosstrand where we are for the evening at Ou Skip Resort.(R90pp)
Went down the road to Bloubergstrand for a sundowner at The Blue Peter which has a lovely view of Table Mountain. On the way we stopped at Melkbosstrand beach and there were thousands of cormorants circling around the bay.
