11 Sept - Sesreim to Seeheim

Got up early to drive down to Sossusvlei and watch the sun rise over the dunes. The silly lady who sold us the permit told us the incorrect time the gate into the Park opens, forgetting that they had put their clocks back an hour, so were a bit late in getting right down to Sossusvlei. Watched the sun rising on our way.. It is an amazing Heritage Site of a Sand Sea. It is our third visit and yet it is still .. wow!!
Walked 1.5kms, to Deadvlei where unbelievably, trees actually got flooded and drowned years ago.
The pic of us laughing so much is that Basil was battling to take a selfie of us..definitely not yuppies!!
A long drive on average dirt roads and after stopping at Helmeringhausen for Basil to admire another prospective lorry!!, we eventually arrived at Seeheim (in the middle of nowhere) It has a Station, a Country Hotel with a Gemsbok, Turkeys, a Parrot, a Border Collie with13 pups!!, and wonderful biltong, as the owner of the Hotel also owns a farm...that's it!!

We will have to change our route again as we cannot get accommodation in Kgalagadi...so who knows where we will be tomorrow night ! (R120pn)
