Went back to the Waterfront today and parked "The Lorry" and bought tickets for The Red Bus Hop on Hop off tours of CT. What fun!
Our first hop off was at Kirstenbosch. It is really wonderful. Spent quite some time there doing the Tree Canopy walk, admiring the large selection of Cycads, Proteas etc. It was really worth the visit.
Our next stop was The Bird Sanctuary near Hout Bay. They have an amazing collection of birds and a few other animals including a many species of monkeys. We came across a Meercat snuggled up to a Bat-Earred Fox!We thoroughly enjoyed the visit.
Hopped back on the bus to Mariners Wharf, Hout bay where we had lovely fish and calamari. We strolled around the little harbour and were surprised at how many old sunk boats there were still tied up in the harbour and old trucks left on the wharf side. It is too expensive for anyone to remove or do anything with them so they are just left. Not a very good state of affairs.
We were entertained by a few seals swimming around in the harbour and then came across a Wino who for few coins would put a bit of fish in his mouth and a huge old seal would take it from him.
Hopped back on the bus and had a lovely scenic drive along the coast taking in llandudno, Camps Bay, Clifton, Bantry Bay, Sea Point, Green Point and back to the water front. The lighthouse that we passed is the oldest in SA.
Left the city centre in rush hour and together with an accident on the highway, we spent quite a while in a traffic jam..not what you need when you are on holiday!
Back at our same camp site.
Cape Town certainly is clean beautiful city.

These photos make me long for my holiday in Cape Town in December. That lighthouse was right across the road from Wade's previous salon. XX
